چکیده

Well placement in a given geological setting for fractured geothermal reservoir is necessary enhanced operations. High computational cost associated with the framework of fully coupled thermo-hydraulic-mechanical (THM) processes simulation makes well positioning missing point developing field-scale investigation. To enhance knowledge different working fluids, we present importance this topic by examining injection-production (doublet) positions fracture network using THM numerical simulations. Results study are examined through thermal breakthrough time, mass flux, and energy extraction potential to assess impact position two-dimensional framework. Almost ten times difference between final amount heat observed but same spacing characteristics. Furthermore, stress field strong function that important concerning possibility high-stress development. The objective work exemplify connectivity density near wellbores, from simulated cases, it sufficient understand both fluids. Based on result, production search future will be reduced high-density area, make optimization process according mechanism computationally efficient economical.

Heterogeneity Preserving Upscaling for Heat Transport in Fractured Geothermal Reservoirs

In simulation of fluid injection in fractured geothermal reservoirs, the characteristics of the physical processes are severely affected by the local occurence of connected fractures. To resolve these structurally dominated processes, there is a need to develop discretization strategies that also limit computational effort. In this paper we present an upscaling methodology for geothermal heat t...

Inverse Modeling of Fractured Geothermal Reservoirs Using Pressure Interference Data

Numerically inverting simultaneous pressureinterference measurements from multiple observation wells can help to establish the large-scale spatial distributions of permeability and storage within a geothermal reservoir. For realistic results, it is important to incorporate double-porosity (MINC) descriptions into the modeling process to properly reproduce the short-term pressure-transient respo...

Redeveloping Mature Fractured Carbonate Reservoirs

Naturally fractured carbonate reservoirs (NFCRs) comprise the majority of the oil and gas reservoirs around the Persian Gulf.  Many of these reservoirs have a long history of exploitation, but vast amounts of oil remain in place.  A major redevelopment process for light oil based NFRs will likely be the use of horizontal wells combined with gravity drainage at constant pressure based on voidage...
